Let me introduce with a haiku about getting out of bed:

No no no no no.
No no no no no no no.
No no no no no.

I hate waking up early. But I love God so much more… eh, you give some. you get some.

Anywayyyy…..

Prior to arriving at training camp, I honestly did not prepare much for this 2-month endeavor.  I was so overwhelmed with other things, preparation fell to the bottom of my list. I definitely regret packing so hurriedly last minute and choosing not to get the suggested vaccinations and meds.  However, I'll just use this as an opportunity to rely even moreso on the Lord.

Training camp has been refreshing. I truly feel that the Lord has been renewing my spirit and preparing my heart for the trip. Almost every message has resonated with me.  In particular, I felt that the ones on rights and expectations, and surrender to God were the most inspiring.  The powerful worship sessions have been very freeing and personal: "It's just you and me in this place". And it's been such a blessing to get to know my teammates thus far, and with every one of us having so much to offer, I am fully confident that God will use our team to help fulfill His purpose in Guatemala this summer.  With that said, I can't say that I will be eager to share such tight quarters with all my teammates under a makeshift tent outdoors if it were to happen again. NO SPOONING FOR ME.

I guess lastly, I'll say this: I'm still not feeling totally ready for this trip, but hey, can we ever feel completely prepared for all the surprises that God has in store for us?
