Team Panajachel is excited!

Leaving home Friday morning was really hard for me. I had just left hanging out with friends to go on a mission trip with people I have not met yet. I felt like I was leaving my comfortable life to never come back. The whole way to the airport and on the plane I felt alone and almost regretted signing up for this mission trip but I kept thinking God has a plan.

As soon as I landed in Chattanooga, a teammate from my team greeted me and it was just great. It was like meeting a long lost friend. After finding my baggage and I went and met up with other real life people and started talking to them about where I was going and then even played games. Once I met all of my team I felt like I knew them already because we all got along immediately and just had a good time conversing about how we all felt so nervous about being awkward or not accepted by our team members.

Our team really bonded on the first day when we had to camp out outside the first night and sit by a fire and just talk and get to know each other more. Every evening that we have had at camp has really strengthened our team and helped us to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and know how to help each other.

I’m really excited for what the Lord has in store for us as we embark on our two month trip to Guatemala! He is doing amazing things already and I’m praying that he continues to work in each of us so that we successfully deliver his love and message.
